Company Overview

Golding has a workforce of some 1800 people on projects throughout Queensland and Australia. Our people are involved in a diverse array of projects that includes:

  • mining of coal, gold and marble
  • construction of bridges, road and rail infrastructure
  • major structural concrete projects
  • industrial infrastructure
  • golf courses
  • wharves and jetties
  • industrial plant maintenance and rehabilitation
  • building construction

Safety is a core ethic at Golding. We have evolved a safety culture that permeates every level and operation of the company. Our National Safety Council of Australia Award speaks for itself - recognising two million work hours free of Lost Time Injury over 19 project sites involving mining, civil construction and civil maintenance.

Golding has been involved in the development of Queensland’s resources for more than 66 years. We maintain long term relationships with major Gladstone area companies including a four-decade partnership with QAL (Queensland Alumina Limited), and ongoing, long-running relationships with major infrastructure works with BSL (Boyne Smelter Limited expansion project), Queensland Rail and the Yarwun Alumina Refinery (previously Comalco Alumina Refinery).

As a major developer of infrastructure, Golding operates a fleet worth more than $100m capable of moving in excess of 150,000m3 of material per day or 4.5 to 5 million m3 of material per month. Golding pioneered the use of scraper, large truck and shovel operations using Komatsu equipment.

Golding’s project managed approach is supported by custom-designed IT systems to facilitate costing, forecasting, and management in order to bring in projects on time and to cost. Our operations are underpinned by IT solutions that use Six Sigma principles to enable continuous improvement of all IT infrastructure and support in order to strive for “zero defects” in every IT process.
