Isaac Plains Coal Mine

The Isaac Plains Mine is an open cut mine located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 10 km east of Moranbah in central Queensland.

Isaac Plains produces primarily low-ash metallurgical coal products for export using Pre-strip, Dragline strip-mining, and Cast-Doze-Excavate mining methods.

Golding has continued into the East pit from its previous contract mining operations at Isaac Plains North and South pits, which commenced in 2016. Since 2018 Golding have ramped up production, including operation of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant, along with ongoing Rehabilitation and Statutory Coal Mine Operator responsibilities.

Stanmore have recognised Golding’s ability to adapt to complex geology and growing production requirements, including the combined management of client and contractor owned equipment.

FY20 production levels are expected to near 30 million bcm of coal and waste with the mobilisation of a client owned Caterpillar 6060 excavator and a new Golding owned fleet of Cat 793F trucks.

Together with Stanmore, Golding have maintained flexible working relationships to accommodate the variability in mining conditions, while keeping a clear focus on safety, productivity and continuous improvement.
