Moura West Rail

To allow the increase in coal exports from the Baralaba Coal Mine, a 6.5km extension to the existing Moura rail line into a new 5.5km Rail Loop and Train Load Out facility located 3km from Moura was required.

Golding delivered all Civil works for Aurizon for the 6.5km extension, with exception to the ballast and track work.

Works were staged to maintain operational use of the existing rail to the Eastern end, plus maintaining access across the new rail for all stakeholders.

Embankment fill was imported from a nearby mine, and a local quarry produced the required specification rail formation gravels.

Numerous multi-cell drainage culverts were constructed without impact on the surrounding environs including the endangered Ornamental snake.
