Woolgoolga to Ballina

Project is the first stage (of 3) of the early works (soft soil treatments) for approximately 7.6km of the future upgrade of the Pacific Highway from Woolgoolga to Ballina. Project involves construction of embankments, surcharges, stability berms, wick drain installation and relocation of water and sewer services. A key challenge of the project is the construction of embankments over deep soft soils.

Following completion of the original scope, Golding was engaged to undertake a significant increase in additional scope including multiple Pacific Highway intersection design & construction to facilitate safe site access, approx. 100Ha of site clearing and mulching, extensive ERSED works and site stabilisation, environmental controls and fauna fencing.
