Gladstone NDRRA road and drainage
In January 2016, Gladstone Regional Council engaged Golding to restore road and drainage infrastructure damaged by ex-Tropical Cyclone Marcia in February 2015. The works were concentrated throughout the western part of the Gladstone Regional Shire and formed part of the broader NDRRA program that is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland State Governments.
The works were predominantly focussed on gravel re-sheeting and drainage remediation across 168 roads. These roads were organised into three separate batches and geographically spanned from the Many Peaks area in the south to the Raglan area in the north. Over 4600 individual sites were remedied. To deliver the works, 100,000 tonnes of road pavement was sourced from various Council gravel pits and transported by Golding.
