Kogan Creek Mine is an open cut mine located in the Surat Basin of Southern Queensland, approximately 15km south of the township of Brigalow.

The mine is owned by CS Energy and supplies their adjacent Kogan Creek Power Station with approximately 2.5Mt of coal each year. The Kogan Creek Power Station was opened in 2006 and is a single turbine supercritical station, providing 750MW of power into the Eastern Australian power network.

Golding undertook civil works for the initial construction of the mine before becoming the mine operator in 2006.

Our scope of work includes: mine design and planning, drilling and blasting, overburden and parting removal as well as selective coal mining from over 30 different plies to ensure coal meets strict specifications.

Additionally, Golding perform all equipment maintenance activities and hold the statutory responsibilities at the mine including Coal Mine Operator and Site Senior Executive.
